Probability of two independent events
Probability is how likely something is, written as a fraction from 0 (impossible) to 1 (certain).
How to do it
- Count the outcomes you want.
- Count all the possible outcomes.
- Write want over all, and simplify.
Worked example
What is the probability that a die shows more than 4 and then a die shows more than 4?
The events are independent, so multiply: 1/3 × 1/3 = 1/9 = 1/9.
