Long division by 2-digit
Long division: how many 47s fit into the digits so far? Write it on top, take away what you used, and bring the next digit down.
How to do it
- Look at the first digits of 8507 until they are at least 47.
- Try a quotient: how many 47s fit? Multiply to check it is not too big. Write it on top.
- Write what you used underneath and subtract to find what is left.
- Bring down the next digit and repeat.
Worked example
